CHRISTMAS IN JULY

A few days ago, I had a party to attend. I was told to bring something sweet. I really didn’t wish to bring a store-bought product. And then, a light bulb moment came. I remembered that I had some left over assorted candied fruits. These fruits were spiked with good Jamaican white rum along with some fruity burgundy wine from last Christmas.

I thought, “This should do!” After all, I baked these last Christmas and they were a hit with loved ones. I immediately knew I made the right choice when I opened my package and everyone rushed over to claim their perfectly round cupcake. Like Christmas, everyone was filled with great joy. Their sweet-tooth problem was solved. I realized then and there that sometimes, all one needs is a fruity spiked cupcake.

In my head I chimed, “Ho, ho, ho!”
